Let's Be Real For a Minute

Safe Space for College Kids. #parenting #college #millenials

As educational facilities continue to create "safe" areas for our overly-sensitive children, let's be real for just one minute.

When did telling someone the truth equal being hateful? Who drew the line and label feelings as the thing to make or break someone's life? Where the hell are the strong-minded, I-don't-give-a-fuck-what-you-say-about-me peeps?

I tell you where they are, they're out there in the world, creating an impact. They've opened up their own businesses. They've traveled the world and lived a life other people only dream of. Those people, the ones who pick themselves up after falling a hundred times, they're literally climbing mountains.

You want to know where the fearless go? They just fucking GO!

They don't have time nor the energy to waste of pointing the finger at someone just because their feelings were bruised. Nope. These folks, they keep it moving without blaming others for their mistakes. They don't let the past, guilt or shame hold them back from accomplishing great things.

Do you know why?

Because they just fucking made a choice to live!

That's right. To live.

Because at the end of the day, you either live your life or you don't.

So, when my college-age daughter tells me another story about safe spaces and college kids crying because their feelings were hurt do you know what I continue to tell her, "When you're meant to fly, don't be held down by people who will never even desire wings."

You either choose to fly or die.
