5 Ways to Get Motivated

 

In my previous post, How To Get Motivated When You Feel Like Giving Up, I shared with you a little about my own struggles with finding motivation. There's no denying that sometimes, we lack courage to move on from the darkness. Sometimes, we're so consumed with our obstacles that we lose our ability to have faith in ourselves and the universe. We are our own worst enemy and our very best friend. If there's anyone who can push through the bullshit, it's you. Maybe, you just need a little nudge. That's why today, I want to share with you my favorite steps to finding motivation. I hope you find them useful.

There are hundreds of ways to get motivated

Some people like to listen to music. Others prefer to take a walk or spend time with people who are uplifting. There is no wrong way to find motivation. The key is to do something that inspires you.

STEP 1: Acceptance:

Accept the past can't be changed. Accept you have a choice to linger in the bullshit or move on to a happier, better version of you.

STEP 2: Forgiveness:

Find forgiveness not only for others who've hurt you, but for your past and for yourself. No one is perfect. Everyone makes mistakes. The key is to learn from these mistakes.

STEP 3: Stop making excuses

So, there are things you want to do. Goals you've been struggling to accomplish. What have you done about it? Are you blaming other people? Or are you taking responsibility for your actions? Stop making excuses and pointing the finger.

STEP 4: Write down your goals

Have you mapped out your goal map? Have you broken down this goal map into smaller, actionable steps? There are ways to achieve your dreams, and it starts with writing them down. Then, create an easy manageable map of how you will achieve these goals. 

STEP 5: Believe in yourself

I'm getting back to basics here. But it's true. If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will. Everything that begins and ends, begins and ends with you. You are the master of your universe, so start with believing that you can do anything.
